OK, so I guess I have been knitting more than I thought, and this is my latest project. The photo of the gold version is from the Vogue Knitting Winter 2005 issue. I fell in love with this sweater the day I first looked at that magazine, and I bought the Cascade 220 to make it that very day. Finally, I'm getting around to it. The color is fabulous; this is the back, and I'm about 3-4 inches into the armhole. This is going very well. So, here I am with yet another WINTER sweater on the needles. Oh well, it's the fun in making them that I love best. I have others that I don't get to wear often but it's all a learning process. And I hope I'm an inspiration to others with these projects.
I've had this weekend off from my teaching at Fay's Needlecraft Boutique, but we start a whole new 3-week session next Saturday, and I will be busy once again. This upcoming session will have 2 classes, beginning knitting and a cable/lace scarf done in laceweight yarn from a chart.
Busy, busy busy!!! Hope you have a great knitting week!

As you can see, I finished the Trinity sweater. It turned out so good, fits well, and it is as light as a feather, truly!!! I had a few problems with this pattern, mostly because they didn't print out the full instructions for both sides of the front shaping , so I sorta had to wing it, but I made it work and I told a good friend of mine I'd rewrite the instructions, but I'm not sure anyone but me will be able to follow them!
I feel like I'm not getting anything accomplished knitting-wise lately, maybe it's the heat. I haven't knitted a single stitch on my norweigan sweater since I posted the photos of it, but I guess that will come. It's not like I have a need to wear it anytime soon, right??? Although I am going to visit my mom in North Dakota in September and who knows what the weather will be like up there at that time!!
Here's a close-up of the detail on the trinity sweater, it's very elegant looking, and I'm already thinking about making this is a different yarn. Oh, so many projects, so many wishes, and so many dreams...that's what the name of this blog is all about!

This is a little summer sweater I recently finished & LOVE! It's made out of Katia "India" and is a papery sort of ribbon with silver throughout. It was a breeze to make, but the photo doesn't show the cables very well. The pattern came from the most recent Katia summer issue. Of course, I bought the yarn & pattern from my favorite local yarn store, Fay's Needlecraft Boutique. Everyone loves this sweater, maybe it's the color??? Very summery.

This is where I'm at so far. I've been working on this thing for about a month now. I still have about 5 more inches to go until I get to the neck shaping, then instead of knitting in the round, it starts going back/forth which I'm sure I will hate. Then the sleeves. I will keep you updated on progress with this sweater. It looks pretty neat though, I think. This is really the first time I've knitted a sweater in this technique. I've done a few bags and a few sweaters with just a bit of the colorwork on the neckline or yoke. This has been a challenge so far, but I love it!

I don't know how well you can make out any detail on this photo, but this is the KidsKnits.com sweater that I've been dying to make for awhile now. It's in black/cream & I just love this sweater! As I said in an earlier post, I don't know when I'm ever going to wear this thing if and when I ever get it done, as this type of knitting is so thick & hot for our Florida weather. But it's fun anyway!

Last but not least, this is the photo of a sweater I'm currently working on. The pattern is from Jaeger & the yarn is Trinity. If you've never seen Trinity before, it's a cotton/silk blend, and it is the lightest yarn I have ever seen! This should be a TRUE SUMMER SWEATER, it weighs next to nothing. It's turning out quite nicely but the finished pieces did not photograph well, so maybe once I get the sleeves done & sew it up, I can try for another picture. Now, off to do some more knitting!

Now that I'm on a roll with these new pictures, let me show you the Cowl & Cable sweater I mentioned in my first posting. The talented person who wrote this wonderful pattern is Susan from Tropical Yarns in Miami. She is so great, I love ALL her stuff!!! This was done in Fantasy Naturale yarn, a heavy weight cotton. It turned out quite nicely, I think!

This is the finished Tristan sweater, from Elsebeth Lavold's "Embraceable You" book. I knitted this for my husband out of Berocco Ultra Alpaca, and it's perfect. The picture does not do this sweater justice, although the up close photo of the detail looks pretty good. And it fits him like a dream!

Well, it's been a long time since I've updated this blog. We finally decided to get a new camera, and I've been waiting for my turn to use it! My husband has been learning how to use it & taking it along with him, so I've been patiently waiting!

The above photos were taken at our local yarn store. The place is absolutely packed with the best selection of everything!!! I'm the redhead in the photos, and I'm wearing a sweater of my own creation, made out of a variety of different yarns & done in a ripple stitch pattern. The lady on the left is my very sweet friend/yarn shop owner, Fay. She is the ultimate knitting goddess!

Since my initial posting, I have finished the Tristan sweater, the royal blue sleeveless summer sweater, and have nearly completed the entire body of the kit I ordered from KidsKnits.com.
And I shall post pictures of these shortly! Seems amazing to have actually finished those items since I started this blog!
