Just wanted to introduce my dog--Molly. She's

6 1/2 years old, and a true joy in our lives.

She is also the most totally spoiled dog on the

planet! We love this dog very much!

This is my favorite knitting picture, it's so cute!

Just Getting Started

Well, I've finally done it! I've been wanting to start a knitting blog for quite some time, and today is it!
I've been a knitter for 40+ years, and have truly been obsessed with it for at least the past 10 years or so.
I work full time, and teach at the local yarn shop on Saturdays. My classes stay pretty full, and I am thrilled to be able to help create new knitters in the area!
Right now, I'm working on an Elsebeth Lavold sweater--Tristan--out of Book Three, The Embraceable You Collection. The pattern called for Elsebeth Lavold Angora yarn, but our LYS was out of the burgundy red color my hubby wanted, so I'm using Berroco Ultra Alpaca, and it's working out fine. I plan on posting photos of the WIP very soon, and I'm nearly finished with everything.
Also I'm making a sleeveless cabled summer sweater out of royal blue Fantasy Naturale. The pattern is from "Mother of Purl", a Miami, FL based designer who works at Tropical Yarns and Elegant Stitches. She is wonderful! I will also post photos of this garment shortly.
My next project is going to be a fair isle long-sleeved sweater, from Kidknits.com, out of Dale of Norway Heilo. It's a gorgeous design, done in black and off-white, and I can't wait to get started on that! Sometimes I wonder why I'm knitting all these wintery type garments when I live in Florida and don't get much chance to wear them, but knitting them is so much fun!
I can see it will be very interesting learning about this BLOG thing and posting comments and photos. Yay! I've got a BLOG!
